Sunday go to meetin' clothes

A gorgeous Sunday night in OKC!
Two of my favorite things in life include going to church, and dresses.  How handy is it that they both go together so perfectly?!  This Sunday I attended the evening service at Life Church here in Oklahoma City with friends.

It is still and most definitely summer here, so as much as I am ready to bust out all things fall, I wore this comfy and cute dress to stay cool in this midwest heat!

This dress is a consignment find, as much of my wardrobe is.  Making a teacher's salary in OK (google it, if you DARE) does not fund one to the priciest fashion finds.  I am a determined soul so I have perfected the art of dressing on a dime and I am super excited to share with you on here! This little gem of a dress was found at Plato's Closet for a steal!  Consignment shopping is one of my favorite ways of staying super fashionable without breaking your bank account.  Plus it's great for the fashion ADD like myself.  I am constantly rotating pieces in and out while earning money back for things I no longer wear.

Consignment shopping can be very overwhelming especially when you see the beauty in so many of the cute things! My rule is if I can't think of 3 ways I can wear it right then, it's out.  That has helped me grow up my wardrobe then buying tons of pieces I like, to buying less good pieces that can be used in multiple ways.

I love this dress with some comfy sandals and necklace like I wore here for an easy breezy summer look.  I could also pair it with heels a clutch for a more dressy occasion.  Lastly I can't wait to put it with boots and a jacket for fall weather.

Also, a quick word on bangs.  I recently got some side swept bangs, and let's say it's a definite learning curve on how to style them! If you know any awesome tutorials hook a sista up! So pardon my fluffy bangs in a few of these photos, it's a work in progress!!

Home is where the heart is...

First of all, welcome welcome to my new blog! Some of you may have read a previous blog of mine.  After a hiatus from blogging (to do some living), I decided to restart my blog! With a new name and style (of course!)

I thought about spending a long time talking about myself, and why I wanted to blog... and then I decided I would rather just jump into it.  So to start, a big part of what is going on in my life is that I am moving (again!).  I moved one year ago to a spacious duplex that I thought would be my home for a good long time.  I love my duplex.  It has wooden floors, a cute little backyard, and a garage to keep me warm in the winter.  However, my landlord decided to be, well, let's say, not so professional, so I will not be renewing my lease at cutie duplex.

As most things are though, it will be a blessing in disguise.  My rent will only be around $10.00 more a month, and my bills will be less expensive.  It also has a more ideal location, close to highways, grocery stores, etc.  OH! It also comes with a dog park for baby Puppins (my Italian Greyhound) to run about in.  It also has a garden-style bathtub that I could not be more excited about because bubble baths are one of my favorite things in the world.

My sweet fur baby, Puppins

What I am MOST excited about is that moving means REDECORATING!!  Home decor is a definite passion of mine.  I have a special interest in all things vintage style and shabby chic.  I also love all things girly. I made a decision when I moved into cutie-duplex to make it as femininely decorated as possible, because I know one day I will be married and not able to run such a lace filled muck on my house!! :-)

Here are a couple shots from my current home.  My desk area, and then my "bar" in the dining room.

Here's a little arrangement on my shelves, with a sweet picture of Shane and I!

This is my favorite spot, my little reading corner.  I adore my vintage style chair, flower lamp, and my pillow from Rue 21.  Similar Here and Here!

Now that I have my apartment picked, and move in date set, I can start brainstorming decor ideas.  By brainstorming I mean pinning up a storm on Pinterest.  I wanted to share some of my pinspiration on here!
